Ben is two months old!

The second month of Ben’s life was all about finding our “new normal.”  We are still adjusting to having two little ones in the house, but we are loving all the baby snuggles!  Here are some updates on our sweet baby boy:
Length: 25.75 inches
Weight: 14lbs 6 oz
Clothes size: 0-3 months
Diaper size: 2 and cloth
Firsts: we've gotten Ben’s first giggles out of him!  What fun.  He is also holding his head up quite well.
Likes: pushing himself up with his feet, waving his arms, smiling at people

Dislikes: being in his car seat, sleeping anywhere but in his crib

~Has a sad face with a lower-lip quiver that is absolutely impossible to resist!

~Has figured out how to smack his lips and enjoys showing off his new trick

It’s been great to watch the relationship between Ben and Eli develop. Eli has really started to master being very gentle around him - what a relief!  He's also started to use a super cute, tender voice when speaking to Ben and trying to come up with ways to help Ben feel better when he cries.
"You okay, baby brother?"  At the blueberry patch.

This picture melts my heart!

Daddy and Eli sing Ben a goodnight song.

This month brought a visit to a speech pathologist that specializes in babies & kids. She evaluated Ben's oral motor skills and found that he had muscle weakness in the jaw, cheeks, tongue, and soft palette. Most babies have one or two areas that they are weaker in, but with having trouble in all four areas, we were having some trouble nursing, which lead to trouble with gas and constipation. We were given homework and have been doing the exercises faithfully, and praise the Lord he has shown much improvement!  I'm so thankful that this didn't have to be the end of our breastfeeding relationship and that I have access to resources to help us. We are all happier and sleeping better at night now.

Both your little guys get cuter every day. Eli really looks grown up when he is with Ben.

I love the fact that you are sharing some of Ben's life with us and I feel so lucky to be a part of his and Eli's life.

Keep up the great work and sharing. The photos are amazing.
