Ben is one month old!

These first few months are such a blur!  Our days are full of feedings, diaper changes, and trying to get into a routine that works for everyone.  Here are some updates on our sweet baby Benjamin:

length: 24.75 inches (100th percentile)
Weight: 12lbs 1oz (93rd percentile)
Clothes size: 0-3 months
Diaper size: 1 and cloth

Firsts: first smile came just before he turned a month old
Likes: staring intently at interesting things - Favorites include faces and ceiling fans
Dislikes: tummy time

Sleeps in his crib or in the swing.
Is getting better and better at holding his head up.

We are glad that our boy is generally healthy, but he has struggled with gas issues.  He has had no problem getting enough to eat, however!. He did not lose any weight at all right after he was born (which is what typically happens), and in fact by three days old he had gained two ounces!      By two weeks old he topped the scales at ten pounds, and by one month he reached 12 pounds! He is also a very long baby. Strangers who inquire often don't believe me when I tell them how old he is and think he must be older!

Eli got to hold three-day old Ben (with an assist from mom).

Taking good family photos is that much harder with another little one in the mix!  That makes it even sweeter when we get a good one.

Getting an adjustment from Dr. Erin.

I caught the tail end of his first smile!

I love those sleepy grins.

Oh so sleepy!

You can really see in this picture that Ben got his coloring from his daddy.  He tends to get red when he gets upset, too, just like daddy!  Luckily it doesn't happen very often for either of them.

Pappy and Gigi (my parents) with two of their grandkids.  They've gotten 5 in about four and a half years!

Grandma and Grandpa (Mike's parents).  Love Eli's expression on this one!

Deep in conversation with great-aunt Pat.

Our little Jedi!

Sweet pictures.

Do most babies dislike tummy time? Seems I read someone else's blog (maybe Emily about Josiah) --- that he didn't like tummy time either.

Maybe it's just that they can't see much from that position.
